Converting a word list to SRGS-XML

During the creation of a new SRGS-XML file, you can generate an SRGS grammar from a simple list of words. This list of words can be typed into the user interface or read from a file.

  1. Select File > New, and select SRGS-XML Grammar File
  2. Select how you want to create it (from scratch, resulting in an empty file) or with DTD assistance
  3. Select the project folder from the list.
  4. Type a name for your file, using the default file extension.
  5. Select Next to select the DTD used for this new file
  6. Select Next to open the SRGS-XML Content window.
  7. In the Rule Name text box, type the rule for the grammar.
  8. Select a radio button:
    • Select Text File to select an existing text file with the list of words (selected by default). Text files can be created using any text editor, such as Notepad. Use the Browse button to locate the file.
    • Select Word List if you want to type the list of words directly in the text box.
  9. Click the Finish button, and the grammar file is added to the Project directory in the Navigator.

The Grammar editor launches and opens a basic grammar file with the word list converted to the SRGS-XML format. You can continue to add to the grammar in the grammar editor.
